06.03.08 FINAL PLAINS SHOW EVER!
The Plains are breaking up. No big drama, no drug addictions, no pure hatred for one another. It's just that we haven't played for over a year, and the steam has left the engine. BUT, we are going to be playing one last show, just for you, the fan. The show is June 21st at our favorite Seattle venue - Mars Bar/Cafe Venus. 9PM, $6. Opening for us will be our longtime friends and supporters, At the Spine, and the amazing Portland/Argentinian musician Fernando, who is definitely one of the best acts in the Northwest. Arrive EARLY, because this show is sure to sell-out! The Plains will be playing last, but the Mars Bar only holds about 80 people. We are going to play an extra-long set of all your favorites, for one last time. Plus, in an attempt to rid ourselves of all of our leftover merchandise, we will be handing out FREE CDs, T-shirts, and stickers all night! Take one, take 2, hell, take 5! Give 'em to your friends! We fully intend this show to be a genuine THANK YOU to all our supporters and friends who've been there through the years, and one big final party for all of us to enjoy. So, THANK YOU for everything! We hope to see you there!

**Future projects: Aaron is currently drumming and writing for an un-named project yet to debut. Jon is drumming and writing for a new project, Marmot vs. Mammoth, debut EP to be released soon. Josh is painting like a MoFo and mastering his beer brewing skills.

06.03.06 At long last, The Plains' new album "The Boy in the Mansuit" is here. The CD release party is Wednesday June 14 at Chop Suey. 05.16.05 The Plains are on hiatus until September 2005 while Aaron explores the highlands of Mexico. Watch for a new album in Fall 2005!

03.21.05 - I figured it was time for a quick update. This week and next, The Plains will be venturing back into the studio to complete their upcoming masterpiece, The Boy in the Mansuit, started over a year ago. Then it's on to mixing, mastering, and finding the money to put it out. Check the live section for upcoming shows.

07.01.04 - The Plains will be playing shows this month at the Stanwood Hotel and Chop Suey. Go here for details.

04.23.04 - As April rolls to a close, The Plains have a slew of shows on the horizon, including Gimme Shelter - a benefit for Seattle's Downtown Emergency
Service Center on Friday April 30. Details on this and other shows are available to you the fan in our live section.

02.19.04 - The Plains are currently working on their new album. We've updated the photo page with a series of informative and/or cryptic images from the studio. Also, there are a couple shows in Seattle coming up quickly. Visit the live page for details.

01.14.04 - Aaron Semer has recently headed back into the studio to record a new song for the feature length Seattle-produced film “Hush,” written and directed by Benjamin Gil-Solheim.  The film will premiere on 1.29.04 at the Rendezvous in Seattle.  It will then be making the rounds to film festivals around the country.  Motivated by his recent recording sessions, Aaron will be taking the rest of The Plains into the studio to begin work on what will become their second full-length album in February.  The Plains are currently busy preparing for these sessions.

08.13.03 - Finally, the photos from The Plains' West Coast Tour are up in the Photo section. Read about the good times as well as the horrible disasters that fell upon them. Also, be sure to check out the new press clippings, new live photos, and upcoming concerts.

07.30.03 - The Plains and Global Seepej Records have recently kicked off a national College Radio campaign with Fanatic Promotions from NYC, who have worked with Sleater Kinney, Lucksmiths, Elephant 6, and Steve Earle to name a few. Needless to say, we are very excited about the great potential of this union, and are happy to announce that "On Earth as it is in Heaven" debuted as the #19 (out of 200) most added album on the College Music charts recently, so listen for us and make requests to your local college radio stations. Lastly, be sure to go to the Global Seepej Records website to check out the new At the Spine album, a great new project from ex-Plains guitarist Mike Toschi, with Aaron Semer on Drums.  (And for those who don't already know, the At a Party video is now available for download in the Media section!)

07.02.03 - The Plains are back in Seattle after successfully surviving their recent West Coast Tour. A photo essay documenting their remarkable journey will be posted on the photo page soon.

05.13.03 - The Plains have hit the road, bringing with them their music, a van, and perhaps a few soccer balls. The three week West Coast Tour begins tonight in Portland. Check out the live section for details and all the tour dates.

04.17.03 - New live MP3s, including two unreleased tracks, from The Plains' radio performance on Seattle's 90.3 KEXP, are now up in the media section. Check out the live section for the latest show and tour information.

11.24.02 - Photos from The Plains' CD Release show at Mars Bar/Cafe Venus are now posted on the Photo page. The Plains will be trekking to Missoula, Montana in early December to play two shows. If anyone is interested in going, email us. We'd love to organize a van-pool.

11.15.02 - The Plains sell out their CD release party at Mars Bar/Cafe Venus. Thanks to everyone who showed up and made it such a success. See pre-show press clippings in the Press section.

10.3.02 - The Plains are in the process of booking as many local shows as possible.  A few are already scheduled.  Check the Live section for more info, and check back often for future shows.  Don't miss the *Official* CD RELEASE PARTY on November 15th at Mars Bar!

9.21.02 - Crazy night! A dual birthday party was held for Aaron Semer and Beth Touschner at the 'Lil Mustard House in Seattle. During the party, the video was shot for The Plains song "At a Party," and many drunken high-jinx ensued, culminating in The Plains' drummer Jonballs sliding across the beer-soaked floor on his stomach as though it were a slip-n-slide. Eventually, the video will be posted in the media section of this website, along with the video for "Firefly."

9.17.02 - www.theplains.net officially launched. High design the result of a collaboration between Dan Lurie of Velvet Fallopian Tube Productions and Aaron Semer.
